About Sue

For as far back as I remember I have had a fascination with nature and art. Whilst growing up in a small rural village in Essex I spent hours drawing animals, particularly horses.

It was natural progression to go from school to an Art and Design Foundation course at Colchester Institute. Here I developed an interest in textiles and went on to graduate from Huddersfield University with a BSc[hons] in Textile Design and Technology.

I worked happily for many years as a computer aided designer at Sudbury Silk Mills, producing ideas for silk ties and furnishing fabrics for designers such as Ralph Lauren and Vivien Westwood.

I began to develop an interest in watercolour painting and since leaving work to have children have been able to dedicate more time to exploring this medium.

I have exhibited paintings at the Quay Theatre in Sudbury, the Naze Tower at Walton-on-the-Naze and various libraries.

My work is also sold through local galleries and shops, Arna Farrington Gallery, Caxton Book Shop / Gallery and Fire Your Inspiration.
